Electron flux (GOES)
≥2 MeV134.0 1/(cm² s sr)
What this shows
Integral flux of energetic electrons (above 2 MeV) measured in geostationary orbit by the primary GOES satellite. These outer-radiation-belt electrons penetrate spacecraft shielding and cause internal charging of their components. NOAA issues an Electron Event alert when the >2 MeV flux reaches 1000 electrons/(cm² s sr) (dashed line). NOAA's caveat: during significant proton events the >2 MeV channel is contaminated by protons and is not reliable.
